“It happened every time he went on the pop. At first it made him curious. Soon he became only afraid.” Writer Peter MacNamara has written a short story inspired by the Dublin phrase ‘on the pop’. It’s a tale of one young man’s trials and tribulations as he cums to terms with his erection being inexplicably linked to a white pigeon. Studio Yum Yum members – Niamh Hannaford, Gavin Leane, Gearóid O’Dea and Darren O’Driscoll – have created a series of vibrant visual art works in a range of mediums including painting, photography and sculpture in reaction to the story. An exhibition exploring confessions, vulnerability and Dublin wit.
